In 1983 Satish worked with Shekhar Kapoor as Assistant Director in the Film Masoom.After assisting him, he made his directorial debut with the film Roop Ki Rani Choro Ka Raja.He made his television debut with SAB TV's comedy drama series "The Great Indian Family Drama" in 2015

  • Satish Kaushik was born and brought up in Mahendragarh, Haryana.
  • As a theatre actor, his most noted role was that of “Willy Loman” in the Hindi-language play, Salesman Ramlal, an adaptation of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman.
  • In 1983 he wrote dialogues for Kundan Shah’s comedy classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and also worked as an assistant director and actor as well.
  • In 1993 Satish direct his first film as a director was Sridevi’s Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. His second was Prem (1995) both were box office disasters.
  • He gave his first hit in 1999, ‘Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain’
  • In 2003, his directorial film “Tere Naam,” hit the box office bagging public and critics acclaim.

  • On 14 June 2021, Neena Gupta published her autobiography, Sach Kahun Toh, in her autobiography she revealed that actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik approached her and offered to marry her when she was pregnant with daughter Masaba. In the autobiography, she mentioned that while offering to marry her, Satish Kaushik said,
    Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing.”
