- Satish Kaushik was born and brought up in Mahendragarh, Haryana.
- As a theatre actor, his most noted role was that of “Willy Loman” in the Hindi-language play, Salesman Ramlal, an adaptation of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman.
- In 1983 he wrote dialogues for Kundan Shah’s comedy classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron and also worked as an assistant director and actor as well.
- In 1993 Satish direct his first film as a director was Sridevi’s Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. His second was Prem (1995) both were box office disasters.
- He gave his first hit in 1999, ‘Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain’

- On 14 June 2021, Neena Gupta published her autobiography, Sach Kahun Toh, in her autobiography she revealed that actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik approached her and offered to marry her when she was pregnant with daughter Masaba.
