Cyrus made his debut in the Indian film industry at the age of 15 with the film “Jalwa” in 1987 starring Naseeruddin Shah and Archana Puran Singh in lead roles. Since then, he has appeared in several advertisements, TV shows, and plays.
Then on the next year, he did his first professional play titled Brighton Beach Memoirs, under Pearl Padamsee. During his college days, he came into the limelight on Malhar festival and he also in FM radio that took off in India where he gained a reputation as a radio jockey.
In 1999, he gained prominence as the host of the popular TV show “MTV Bakra,” where he played pranks on unsuspecting individuals. He also hosted the satirical late-night TV program “The Week That Wasn’t” on CNN-News18.C
In 1999, he appeared as Cyrus in Zee TV’s sitcom ‘Hello Friends,’ which was a Hindi version of one of the most popular American sitcoms ‘Friends.’

Defamation Case
In 2013, a defamation case was filed against Broacha and the team by the Tamil Nadu government over his comments during the show regarding Jayalalithaa’s letter to the Prime Minister asking Sri Lankan players not to be allowed in the Indian Premier League (IPL).On the 30 May 2023, Cyrus Broacha announced on his podcast that the show had been canceled by the management at CNN News18. Cyrus further announced there would not be any more shows.
